Water Level Earrings

The design of these earrings reminds me of some sort of ancient measuring device - part ruler, part abacus – thus the title.
In the third year of a draught in California, we are seeing water levels in reservoirs that are alarmingly low.
The turquoise beads are riveted to the tablet shaped silver earrings,
1 3/8” X 3/8” (34mm X 10mm) not including the ear wires.
The ear wires are sterling silver with a turquoise bead.
