"Wabi-Sabi" Bead Tray

Not quite a full tray yet, but I couldn't wait to see what they would look like on the site. These are my newest "favorites", very rich and ancient looking. I have made one brangle from them so far. I am trying to come up with an easy way to sell the beads individually without having to photograph each one. Photography and sizing for the site takes longer than making the beads! Not cost effective. Prices for a single bead might range from $5 to $15 depending on size. Very large "focal" beads will be more.

These beads are all created from ivory and black glass plus silver leaf or silver foil. All of the variations in color come from the reaction of the glass and metal in the flame. Using a reducing flame (fuel rich) on the bead after the final shaping brings the silver to the surface. For a very enlarged view of some of these beads, click here.

These beads have holes large enough to accommodate a 12 gauge wire or a 1.5 mm snake chain. All of my beads have been properly annealed in a digitally controlled kiln.
