Measuring Wrist for Bangle With a Clasp Bangles can be made to fit any wrist. A properly sized bangle will be comfortable to wear.... snug enough so that the clasp remains on the inside of the wrist, loose enough to slide over the wrist bone. Measure your wrist over the wrist bone using a measuring tape or a piece of paper. The wrist in photo above is almost 6". I consider this a "small" wrist for a grown women, although I have seen even smaller ones! My own wrist is a medium size, just over 6 1/2". Nearly every bangle I have made fits me comfortably, even when I have intentionally made it slightly smaller or larger than I think is "right". Small adjustments to the clasp can improve a fit that is "almost right" and make it a "perfect" fit. For smaller wrists (under 6") or larger sized wrists (more than 7") I will change the length of the silver mandrel that forms the bangle and remove, add, or substitute beads to make it all "right". |

Because the clasp that I use works most easily when the open hook faces away from the hand, it does make a difference which wrist you wear it on. I wear mine on the left wrist (I am right handed). If you prefer to wear your bangle on your right wrist, please be sure to let me know this so that I can change the clasp placement for you. To close the clasp, I hold the open clasp between the thumb and index fingers of my right hand, slip the bangle on my wrist, press the bangle against my ribs to compress, and then hook the clasp. It takes a little practice the first time, but becomes easier once you get the "hang of it".
